NUDS เปิดโลกทัศน์เพื่อกระตุ้นความสนใจของนักเรียน บูรณาการการเรียนรู้ด้วยประสบการณ์จริงด้านการเกษตร พื้นฐานชีวิตดั้งเดิมตามวิถีไทย ที่เพาะปลูกเพื่อบริโภค เลี้ยงชีพ หรือค้าขาย และเป็นการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม ที่มีให้เห็นน้อยลงในปัจจุบัน
เมื่อวันที่ 31 มกราคม 2563 ที่ผ่านมา นักเรียน NUDS ได้สัมผัสบรรยากาศการเรียนรู้ใหม่ๆ กับวิทยากร ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านวิทยาศาสตร์การเกษตร ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วิภา หอมหวล อาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาวิทยาศาสตร์การเกษตรฯ มหาวิทยาลัยนเรศวร ที่มาแนะนำและสาธิตเกี่ยวกับพืชผักสวนครัว เพื่อให้เด็กๆ ฝึกปฏิบัติด้วยตนเอง ตั้งแต่ทำความรู้จักความแตกต่างของดิน เมล็ดพันธุ์พืชประเภทต่างๆ วิธีการปลูก การดูแลรักษาพืชผักสวนครัวจนโตและรับประทานได้
การลงมือสัมผัสเรียนรู้ธรรมชาติในครั้งนี้ เป็นการฝึกนักเรียนให้มีความใจเย็นและอดทนรอคอย ผ่านการเฝ้าดูแลสวนผักเล็กๆ ทำให้เด็กๆ ได้สนุกอย่างรู้คุณค่า ต่างจากการเล่นของเล่นหรือวัตถุที่ถูกผลิตขึ้นมาอย่างฉาบฉวยจากวัสดุสิ้นเปลือง นอกจากนี้ เด็กๆ ยังได้เรียนรู้ว่า การดูแลต้นไม้ให้เติบโตด้วยสองมือน้อยๆ ของพวกเขา จะช่วยสร้างให้หัวใจของพวกเขาเติบโตอย่างมั่นคงเช่นกัน

NUDS opens up the world to the students by encouraging them to learn and integrate through real experiences on agriculture – a Thai way of life that focuses on plantation for consumption, living, trade and environmental conservation, all of which gradually disappear these days.
To support the idea as such, on 31 January 2020, the NUDS K1 students experienced a new learning environment with an expert of agriculture, Assist. Prof. Dr. Wipa Homhuan, a lecturer in Department of Agricultural Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, Naresuan University, who volunteered to be the children’s heroine in You Are My Hero: A Vegie Garden for Kids. The activities included a suggestion and demonstration on vegetable gardening that the kids can do it at home, difference of soil and seeds, plus methods of growing vegetables until they are edible.
By studying with nature this time, the students have learned how to be calm and patient through taking care of a small kitchen garden. The project makes the kids have fun and realise value of something, which is different from playing toys or items made of consumable materials. Most importantly, the children learn that growing plants with their little hands will make their little heart grow as those plants.
