Assistant Professor Acting Sub Lt. Dr. Sophon Lawan, Associate Dean for Student and Cultural Preservation Affairs in Faculty of Humanities at Naresuan University, has been known among students as “Ajarn So” or an expert on Thai Classical Music. Apart from academic reputations, he is also an advisor of NU Student Union, a director of Light and Sound events, Master of Ceremony for Buddhist ceremonies, etc. Ajarn So can play all traditional Thai musical instruments, but his favourite one is a flute. Moreover, he has been a guest lecturer on recreational activities in many schools and universities across Thailand. With his uncountable talents, plus good humour, friendliness and calmness, all of which make people laugh with joy and get admired by children easily, NUDS invites him to be one of Guest Teachers, teamed up with ‘Teacher Bom’—Teranai Ratanapoom, a staff in Division of Student Affairs, and ‘Teacher Wat’—Chinawat On-sud, an MA student from Faculty of Humanities, who both graduated in Traditional Thai Music. For only one year, Ajarn So has turned the school into a wonderful place full of happiness and joy. While singing and dancing together with the teachers, the kids’ skills and intelligences are enhanced through the blissful music that will be played in their heart forever.
