“Kru Men,” Mr. Wachirapong Wongprasit or “Teacher Men,” got B.A. in Communication Arts and M.A. in Educational Technology and Communications. He has been interested in art since childhood. While studying in a high school, he joined many art contests (water and drawing) and received several winning awards. As an undergraduate and postgraduate student, he worked on various kinds of art and did research A Study of Environmental Management on Teaching and Learning in Arts Learning Area (Visual Art).
Teacher Men’s art instruction focuses on learners. In his view, art is beauty that depends on an individual’s sense of thought and limitless imagination. He therefore does not teach students to copy his ideas, but tries to bring out one’s identity and interest before presenting them as a work of art. All of these are in an activity-oriented teaching process that applies several techniques to convince children to observe things around them, experience beauty of nature, distinguish shapes or differentiate shapes, forms and colors to create their own masterpiece.
Nowadays, Teacher Men work as an academic art officer at Division of Art and Culture Conservation, Naresuan University. He is an artist who designs NU souvenirs for NU Souvenir & Textile, such as paintings of King Naresuan the Great pouring water or fighting in an elephant battle, greeting cards with watercolour Salao flower, including other information media such as posters, brochures, information boards, product logos, animations and illustrations.
