เพื่อสืบสานเอกลักษณ์และวัฒนธรรมไทย NUDS ได้จัดให้นักเรียนชั้นอนุบาล 1 ปีการศึกษา 2562 เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมวันลอยกระทง เมื่อวันที่ 11 พฤศจิกายน 2562 ณ โรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยนเรศวร (ปฐมวัยและประถมศึกษา) เด็กๆ ได้แต่งกายด้วยชุดไทยและนำกระทงประดิษฐ์จากวัสดุธรรมชาติ เช่น กระทงน้ำแข็ง กระทงใบตอง กระทงสลัดผัก กระทงดอกไม้ ซึ่งหาได้ง่าย ย่อยสลายได้ไม่ยาก และไม่ทำลายธรรมชาติ มาร่วมลอยกับเพื่อนๆ และคุณครูที่โรงเรียน ทุกคนร่วมกันรำวงกันอย่างสนุกสนานด้วยเพลง “ลอยกระทง” ภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ รวมทั้งฟังเรื่องราวความเป็นมาของประเพณีดังกล่าวจากครูประจำชั้น เรื่องเล็กๆ ที่สร้างสีสันในกิจกรรม เช่น การแต่งชุดไทย ฟังเพลงไทย รำวง การลอยกระทง เป็นการนำเสนอให้เด็กๆ เรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมที่สอดคล้องกับวิถีชีวิตของคนไทย นอกจากนี้ การตอบคำถามของเด็กๆ ว่า “ทำไมถึงใช้ต้นไม้หรือใบไม้มาทำกระทง” “ทำไมต้องลอยกระทง” ฯลฯ เป็นการสร้างเสริมความรู้และความเข้าใจให้กับคนรุ่นใหม่ เกี่ยวกับประเพณีไทยอันดีงามที่ควรค่าแก่การอนุรักษ์ไว้ตลอดไป

To conserve Thai uniqueness and culture, NUDS organised “Loy Krathong Festival” for K1 students to participate on 11 November 2019 at Naresuan University Demonstration School (Kindergarten and Primary). The children dressed in Thai traditional costume and brought eco-friendly krathong made from natural materials to float with teachers and friends at the school. After listening to the teachers’ stories about the festival, every student sang along the traditional “Loy Krathong” song in Thai and English version, and joyfully danced (ramwong) together. The colourful gimmicks such as Thai traditional dress, Loy Krathong song, ramwong, help the students learn more about the culture involved with Thais’ way of life. Answering the students’ questions such as “Why do we have to use leaves to make Krathong?” or “Why do we have to float this banana trunk?” is meant to give the young generation knowledge and understanding of Thai tradition worth for preservation and restoration.
